Anatomy of a Bad Beat: Colorado v Oregon State

There was a horrific bad beat in College Football last night that could drive even those most seasoned sports bettor to Wannamakeabet.com to avoid disasters like this in the future.

The Colorado Buffaloes were 26.5 home favorites against Oregon State.   If the moneyline was available it was somewhere around -$3,000 on the favorite Buffs.    The Beavers had lost 13 straight conference games and 22 straight road games.  There was no way they could win this game.   Right?

The game started off slowly, as many do with big spreads.  But the Buffs started to pull away in the second quarter.  By halftime the score was 24-3.  No reason to get nervous.

Finally, the Buffs were covering as they went up 31-3 in the third quarter.   Time to lay on the points and cover with ease.  Not so fast.   By the end of Q3 , the Beavers got a touchdown of their own and the score was 31-10.  No need to worry, Buffs would probably score again, right?

What happened next was someone by the name of Jake Luton.  He started lighting up the field and throwing for TDs as they put up 24 unanswered points in the 4th quarter.  The much maligned Beaver defense then finally stepped up and made plays in overtime and Oregon State won the football game 41-34.

Colorado blew the lead.  They blew the cover.  Then they blew their own asses out of their pants in front of their own fans at home.
