  • Detroit Lions  -1.5 over Green Bay Packers
    • Sticking with our Lions again this week as Jordan Love has a lot of growth ahead of him despite the comeback win against the Saints.  The offensive line of the Packers was not expected to be able to keep the pass rush of the Lions at bay.  Statement game for the Lions about who’s boss in the NFC North this year as the Dan Campbell party rolls on.
  • Pittsburgh Steelers -2.5 over Houston Texans
    • The Texans are off to a better than expected start this year and last week’s upset of the Jags is providing some value this week for a bet-against.  Last week, young CJ Stroud didn’t really face a pass rush like the one he’ll see this week and this make-shift offensive line will really feel the heat when they see TJ and Highsmith coming.  Meanwhile, the Steeler’s offense is ranked 27th but that’s largely driven by playing the stellar defenses of the 49ers (4) and Browns (1).  The Steelers had their way against the Raiders and will do the same to Houston.
  • Washington Commanders +7.5 over Philadelphia Eagles
    • Buy low / Sell high opportunity for both teams here.  The Eagles are 3-0 and somehow their offense doesn’t seem to be entirely clicking.  There’s still lots of backyard, makeshift stuff happening for big plays by the Eagles. Meanwhile, the pass rush for the Commanders is totally healthy and we expect Hurts to have a game similar to the one he had against New England (read: not that easy).   That brings us to the X factor…  Sam.  Howell.  The gunslinger played awful last week (4 picks) but this Philly secondary is beatable if the pass rush doesn’t get home.  We’re thinking he looks more like the Sam that lead them to a 2-0 start.  We like the points in this division rivalry and you can likely get 8.5 by the time you read this email.
  • LA Chargers – 5.5 over Vegas Raiders
    • The Chargers finally got their first W last week against the Vikings and we think the Chargers are going to start meeting expectations.  Now that’s going to be made a lot easier this week because 37 year old journeyman Brian Hoyer is likely going to get the start for the Raiders.  And the Charger defense finally started showing signs of life last week and we expect the same against a Raiders team whose stars started to show signs of throwing in the towel against the Steelers.  You have to ask yourself… how much can Devante, Jakobi, and Josh take before they realize it’s all a lost cause?
  • Dallas Cowboys -6.5 over New England Patriots
    • Last week’s horrible loss to the Cards by the Boys was a reminder that On Any Given Sunday, you can go down in dramatic fashion to any team in the league.  But let’s not over-react and start wondering who Dallas is just because they lost one game.  And yet, this is the kid of game where everyone looking at it thinks the Pats are the right side yet nobody can bring themselves to bet on them.  Despite the obvious coaching disadvantage, let’s not overthink this one.  Just bet that the same Dallas team that we saw humiliate the Jets and Giants is the one that shows up against New England.

Good luck with your selections!
