Detroit +3 over Chicago

Detroit came into the season ranked at the bottom of everyone’s power rankings but now I have them ranked 29th right behind, you guessed it, the Chicago Bears.  The Lions truly are a scrappy bunch who are playing hard for new head coach and everyone’s favorite tough guy Dan Campbell.  Their first possible victory was snapped from their grasp last week with a miracle kick from Baltimore’s Tucker but they have nothing to be ashamed of as they played the Ravens tough right to the wire.  This week, they head to division rival Chicago who can’t do much right, especially on offense.  Justin Fields is not only struggling with the new speed of the NFL but he may be nursing an injury to boot.  Detroit may get that first win this week or lose another heartbreaker at the wire but they’ll be in this game right to the end.

Arizona + 4.5 over LA Rams

The Rams have really owned the Cards in recent history and they will likely get this win if history is any indication.  But the electric Kyler Murray is so dynamic and importantly, healthy, this year that we may see this trend reverse itself this Sunday.   The Rams have the leagues best (#1) offense but the Cards are a not too shabby 8th.   But on the defensive side of the ball, the Cards are a staunch bunch ranked 8th lead by Chandler Jones and the Rams are a disappointing 13th.  This is mainly due to their run defense.  Here comes Kyler!  I just like underdogs in the NFC West.

Seattle +2.5 over San Francisco

Speaking of NFC West dogs, hello Seattle.  I don’t like Jimmy G.  I don’t think he’s long for this league or this team and I believe we’ll see Trey Lance before the end of this season.   Jimmy continues to make dumb plays at crucial moments.  I have Seattle ranked 10th and the 49ers 12th so we should have a close game here.  The 49ers have the coaching advantage but Seattle has Russell and he’ll do enough at the end to get this win or get inside the number in a tight one and great division battle in the Bay.

Baltimore + 1 over Denver

Baltimore is an underdog in this game?  Are you kidding me??  They are two plays away from being 3-0.  And don’t forget they slayed the dragon (Chiefs).  Meanwhile, Denver has beaten the league’s worst teams (Giants, Jets and Jaguars) to get to their 3-0 and are about to be handed a dose of reality with this one.   Assuming Lamar is healthy (back) this is an easy win for the Ravens after the emotional field goal buzzer beater last week. I know it’s the second straight road game and the altitude blah blah but come on, this is a major step up in class for the Broncos that they won’t be able to handle.

Green Bay – 6.5 over Pittsburgh

I really wonder who in this country is betting on Pittsburgh right now.  Are their faithful fans blind to what the rest of us are witnessing in the demise of Ben?  It’s not only physical anymore because he clearly cannot throw the ball down field.  Now it’s clearly mental as he throws lob passes to defensive linemen reminiscent of Kent Graham.   To anyone holding on to the belief Ben should still be in there this has to be extremely concerning.   Dwayne Haskins is their only chance to save the season and it’s not if, it’s when.  Add in the defensive injuries and it’s a recipe for Green Bay to light them up at home this week and pours salt on the open wound.
