Tuesday Baseball Predictions – Boston Red Sox Stay Hot

by Cody Roberts – Wannamakeabet Staff Writer
Prediction: Boston Red Sox -1.5 over Oakland A’s
After a decent start to the season, Daniel Mengden is now 0-2 in his last four starts. Although those two losses came against the powerful Astros lineup, he is in for another hard test with the Red Sox tonight. Batting over thirty points higher against right-handed pitchers (.276/ .241) Boston should have no problem getting on base tonight and knocking in those runs (averaging six runs per game at home this season). In his last start Eduardo Rodriguez seemed to cruise through the Yankees lineup until getting into some trouble, but still managing to get out of trouble. With the A’s struggling to make contact vs lefties striking out at almost a 25% rate. The Red Sox should have no problem covering the 1.5 run line tonight en route to another home field victory.
Detroit Tigers +122
In Josh Tomlins last 7 starts, Josh is 0-4 with an 8.06 era while allowing 40 hits to 14 strikeouts. The Tigers are averaging five runs a game in their last four and should have no problem keeping this rolling against Tomlin. Until he prooves he can return to form from two years ago I will have no problem taking the odds against him.
