Monday Morning QB 1/13 – Big Seeds Take Care of Business
Wannamakeabettors,
Wildcard weekend and the college football final four is in the books at Wannamakeabet.com as we head toward the divisional round and the College Football finale between Ohio State (-8.5 46) and Notre Dame next Monday night.
Invitations are still out for the 2025 NFL Playoffs League. Entry is free and we’re giving away $100 cash. Member “I DONT CARE” has taken the lead with 85,714 which only means one thing… the Eagles won and covered. That also means the PhillyMegabux leaders are reaching all time highs.
And don’t forget to get into the January All Sports Cash league. There’s daily action on all sports including College and NFL Football, College and NBA hoops, and Hockey. It’s a great time of year to be a degenerate.
NFL Recap and Divisional Playoff matchups:
Houston 32 – Chargers 12
Every team in the AFC wanted to play the Texans but that may not be true anymore as they smashed the Chargers to kick the weekend off on Saturday. The Texans looked horrible (like they had most of the season) early and couldn’t get anything going. Then, in a single play that included a fumbled snap and scramble in his own end zone, CJ Stroud erased his troubles from the entire season and went on a tear both throwing and running the ball. The defense took care of the rest as Herbert ended up throwing four picks. He wrecked all the four team teasers while he was at it and sent Jim Harbaugh back to LA. Can the Texans keep the mojo going next week as they go to Kansas City? They open as an 8 point dog. We shall see.
Ravens 28 – Steelers 14
The Steelers always get the absolute most out of what they have. And it turns out they don’t have much. But at least they had enough to cover the two team teasers getting 15.5 in this one. The Steeler’s offensive line was no match for the Ravens and the defense couldn’t even come close to stopping the two headed monster that is Lamar Jackson and Derek Henry. Henry was even laughing as he was running and the stiff arm to Minka Fitzpatrick (and his overpaid contract) will haunt Steeler fans for the entire off-season. Next up, Ravens travel to Buffalo for the most anticipated game of the divisional round on Sunday night. Opening line, Pick’em.
Bills 31 – Broncos 7
The media (especially Romo) and betting public had everyone believing this would be a good game. But the commish was calling for the Bills on the podcast despite not getting co-host Cello to join him. Denver started the game well; connecting on a bomb from Bo Nix to Troy Franklin. Then they never scored again. Buffalo did their typical steamroll in Orchard Park and put up 471 yards of total offense and the defense stepped up big time and caused problems for the rookie QB and held them to only 71 yards rushing for an easy win and cover. Even the Denver four team teasers got blown out of the water.
Eagles 22 – Packers 10
In the battle of the two best defenses of the weekend, the Eagles prevailed and forced Jordan Love to throw three picks. The Packer defense was solid and generally held Hurts and company in check but it was the Eagle defense that was the story of the game and may end up being the story of these playoffs if they continue to play that well. Bad beat of the weekend was either Saquan sitting down to avoid getting the anytime TD prop in the 4th quarter or the Packer teasers not getting there by a 1/2 point, take your pick. Next up. hosting the winner of tonight’s Vikings/Rams game.
Commanders 23 – Bucs 20
In the battle over who has more magic and charm, Jayden Daniels wins over Baker Mayfield. Jayden was getting rag dolled on the field but converted a critical fourth down conversion with his legs late in the game to set up the game winning field goal. Meanwhile, Baker fumbled a jet sweet when they had a four point lead and then with another chance inside the 10 yard line on 3rd and inches, mishandled another snap setting up a fourth down attempt that ultimately failed. Cleveland fans (like me) had some flashbacks during that sequence. The Commanders will head to Detroit next weekend where they opened as a 9 point dog.
Enjoy the Vikings / Rams game tonight and remember it has been moved to a neutral field in Arizona due to the fires in LA. Once again, our hearts and thoughts and prayers are with all our friends, family, and customers in the Los Angeles area.
Jack and Josh!
