Podcast hosts Jack and Cello notched another 3-2 week bringing the season rocord to 40-25 (62%).  This week’s pod is live and always comes out on Wednesday evenings so make sure you follow us on your favorite listening platform.  Here’s who we like this week.  All lines are current from Wannamakeabet.com at the as time of this email.

  • Cincinnati Bengals -2 over Indianapolis Colts
    • Jake Browning showed the country on Monday night that he’s a capable replacement for Joe B as he took the Bengals into Jacksonville and got the outright win as a 10 point dog.  This week, they face a competitive Colts team with a highly volatile quarterback (Minshew) who has a handful of turnover worthy plays every week.  This means we’re expecting Cincy’s defense to have a memorable day this week as Jake continues his steady play with the stable of weapons (Chase/Higgins) that can make almost any QB look good.
  • Chicago Bears + 3 over Detroit Lions
    • As we saw last week against the Saints, this Lions defense is trending down and can’t seem to put anyone away.  And the Bears D is trending up.  Over the past month they rank #4 in the league against the run and that should really help them in this division war against the Lions.  The Lions are holding on for dear life to their lead in the NFC North and if Justin Fields can just take care of the ball marginally better, the Bears should be in this one right to the wire and possibly even get the win at home Soldier Field.
  • Denver Broncos +3 over LA Chargers
    • Despite losing at the wire to the Texans last week we still believe these Broncos have a lot of life left this season.  This is another high leverage division game on the slate this Sunday and the Broncos could put the Chargers out of contention if they get the win.  With Russ playing much better lately, the Denver D healthy, a Charger secondary that hasn’t stopped anyone all year, what makes anyone think they will be able to stop Sutton and Jeudy.  Denver and their coaching advantage get the win here.
  • Philadelphia Eagles +3.5 over Dallas Cowboys
    • Dallas still needs to prove to us they can win a big, meaningful game before we believe they can actually do it.   Mike McCarthy’s questionable play calling in the clutch and Dak’s deer in headlights propensity has lead us to give the edge to the Eagles considering we’re getting more than a field goal. This one comes down to the wire and the Cowboys either get a narrow win (no cover) or sadly play to their tendency and choke it away all together.
  • Miami Dolphins -13.5 over Tennessee Titans
    • The Titans pass defense is ranked 30th in the league.  And teams with much lesser offenses (like the Browns) have had a feast on these guys.  And the Tennessee offensive line can’t seem to block a pass rush as they gave up six sacks last week to the Colts which left rookie Will Levis out to dry.  We all know how explosive Miami is in these situations and with their defense healthy, this one should get ugly for the Titans early, often, and late.  Miami wins 45-17.

Good luck with your selections.  And read our deep dive from analyst Thomas Quaynor on the Bears / Lions game here.
