Podcast Picks – We’re still cranking up over 60% winners for the year!

Podcast clowns Jack and Cello posted another 3-2 record last week and the Week #13 Podcast is live.   That brings the season record to 37-23 (62%). Here’s our top five from this week’s card including All lines are current from Wannamakeabet.com at the as time of this email.

  • Pittsburgh Steelers -4.5 over Arizona Cardinals
    • The Steelers are quietly climbing the WANNA power rankings (6th) as their offense has been playing better lately and the defense is stellar as always.  This week, they face the doormat from Arizona, who we rank 30th overall and who, despite having Kyler Murray back in the saddle, are bringing a lot of injured offensive players to the table this week.   Final score… 20-6.
  • Detroit Lions -4.5 over New Orleans
    • The Lions may have ruined your Thanksgiving but gamblers will be well served to have a short memory.  Both of these teams are slipping in our rankings but the Lions have had 10 days to lick their wounds and now they play the dysfunctional Saint offense who struggles to score on a good day and whose receivers (Olave / Shaheed) are banged up.  The Lions defense is much better against the run than the pass.  And since everyone knows Kamara is going to get 15-20 touches/targets, the script is straight forward… shut him down and win the game.
  • Denver Broncos +3 over Houston Texans
    • Denver is hot.  And not that beating the Browns last week was a big deal but taking down the Bills and Chiefs in the previous two weeks can’t be ignored. They come into this one healthy while Houston’s receivers are banged up (Dell/Brown) or out entirely (Shultz).  CJ Stroud is special, but we still tend to like him more as the dog and not as the favorite and we’re going to stick with the hot hand and rapidly rising defense in Denver.
  • San Francisco 49ers – 3 over Philadelphia Eagles
    • The Eagles have been living on the edge and coming out on the winning end of games all season long.  That changes this week as the 49ers are hyper focused to get revenge from last year’s conf championship game and are healthy on both sides of the ball.  The 49ers tend to struggle if you can get pressure right up the middle.  But with Cox banged up and Cunningham out and all the typical misdirection Shanny likes to come with, the 49ers should be able to cook in this one and slam the door with the lead with that great defense.
  • LA Rams -4 over Cleveland Browns
    • Unlike teams like the Jets and Patriots, who put the same miserable quarterback(s) out on the field every week, who then proceed to fail miserably, the Browns will try anything.   The latest experiment will be Joe Flacco.  And despite his impressive resume, we all know he’s a mere shadow of his former self.  This one should be really ugly.  The Browns still have a path to get to 10 or 11 wins as they still get to play the Jets, Bengals, Texans, and Bears before the season ends.  The Rams get up early in this one and the Browns throw in the towel before half time so they can finally head home and rest before the stretch run.

Good luck with your selections, and check out our deep dive analysis of the 49ers / Eagles game by NFL analyst Thomas Quaynor.

Enjoy that Turkey!

Jack and Josh!
