Here’s who we have our eye on this Sunday.   Lines are current as the time of this email.

  • Carolina Panthers + 3 over Houston Texans
    • Carolina is the only team without a win and that’s about to change.  Two weeks rest and a Frank Reich handing off the play calling duties to Tom Brown is just what the doctor ordered.  Buy low / Sell high on both teams here as the Panthers get into the Win column and the Texans regress to the mean.
  • Seattle Seahawks -3.5 over Cleveland Browns
    • The Browns are a running team… without a running back.  Oh and they don’t have a QB either right now.  Throw in back to back road games and a non conference opponent and you have a Browns team who sole goal is to get back to Cleveland without injuries and get ready to play Arizona next week.
  • Cincinnati Bengals +5 over San Francisco 49ers
    • The 49es are reeling.  And injuries to their key players is a big reason why.  McCaffrey, Debo, and Purdy are essential pieces of the offense and who knows how healthy they are, even if they take the field.  And the defense has not looked great the past two weeks in their back to back losses.  We know they’re coming home finally but they will need more than that to beat the surging Bengals with Joe’s almost heeled calf.
  • LA Chargers -8 over Chicago Bears
    • T-Bag had a nice start last week, we’ll give him that.  But now he’s playing the Chargers who are coming off losses to the Cowboys and Chiefs respectively.  A perfect assignment if you need a game to show you’re still a very good football team.  The Charger offense is ranked 8th and the Bears D is 28th.  Nice matchup for the Chargers.  As much as we hate HD Brandon Staley, even he may not get outcoached by Matt Eberflus.
  • Detroit -8.5 over LV Raiders
    • Detroit no-showed last week in Baltimore in the second leg of back to back roadies, so we forgive them.  That sets them up nicely for this Monday nighter to show the country why they think they should be in the conversation for best team in the NFC.  We currently rank these Lions 5th overall while the Raiders are all the way down at 30th.  Jimmy G looks like he’s starting again and that’s a good thing for the Lions bettors.
