Buffalo Bills – 6.5 over Indianapolis Colts

I’m not so sure this is Buffalo’s year but I’m pretty confident this will be their week.  The Colts have not played great defenses this year and are coming out of the weakest division in the AFC (south).  I think Frank Reich will have this team ready and will play that zone defense to keep this game close in the first half.  But the game will eventually start to feel like a dam on the verge of breaking and Buffalo will eventually unleash their potent offense.  They’re too explosive and they will eventually find their way through this defense and score.  On the other side of the ball, the Bills defense should be able to harass Rivers quite easily and force him into one of his infamous mistakes.   That will leave him stuck in the pocket in the fourth quarter with no way out.

Rams +3.5 over Seattle

The Rams have the better defense.  And Better coach.  Let’s get that out of the way first.  True, the Hawks have played well as of late but that was against teams like Washington.  Russell Wilson.  He’s great.  But I don’t know what happened to the Seattle offense the second half of the season but it looks nothing like it did at the beginning of the year.  But he holds the ball too damn long and their offense is not humming by any measure.    Jalen Ramsey is likely going to lock in on DK Metcalf.  Cooper Cup is coming back.  So is Whitworth, the stud left tackle who has been out for a month.  People don’t realize how important the left tackle is but I weigh it heavily if that player is not in the game and that’s Goff’s blindside protection.   I think the Rams with this hook is just what I need to get me to back them this week and potentially win this game outright.

Baltimore -3 over Tennessee

Tennessee is a bad team based on their defense.   Name a worse front seven in this playoffs?    Just look at this total in the mid 50s for proof.  Lamar is clicking on all cylinders and he’s ready to torch this D.   I cannot make a case for Tennessee in this game.   In the first game the Ravens were very banged up on defense and they held Henry to less than 50 yards rushing.  Now everyone is healthy so what will happen?  The Ravens took their foot off the gas and let them back into the game last time but that won’t happen on Sunday.  Ravens win big with a healthy defense and healthy Lamar, lay the small number before it goes to 3.5.

Steelers -6 over Cleveland

Well I missed the early number on this game like most people but I still like Pittsburgh here.  Head coach Kevin Stefanski has Covid.  And that’s a shame for this team given how instrumental he has been in calling the offense.  Has the market overreacted to this news?  Probably a bit.  But starting left guard Bitonio has the Vid also.  And Ben is rested.  He’s been sitting on his couch for 10 days eating chips.   He’s on his way out and that will materialize in the coming weeks but this week he should shine.  Especially against this defense, which is banged up and not very good to begin with.  Yes, this Steeler’s team lost to the Redskins and Bengals.  The Browns have one shot, running right up the middle into the teeth of this defense.  They have the weapons to do it with Chubb and Hunt.   But come 4th quarter and the Browns fall behind by a score or two and the defense will take care of slam the door shut.
