Podcast Picks – Click here to listen to this week’s Podcast (and make sure to follow us on Spotify or Apple and give us a review or thumbs up). Another 1/2 point loss with Houston last week kept us from a 4-1 week but another 3-2 record brings our season record to 33-32 (51%) Here’s our top five this week.  All lines are from Wannamakeabet.com at the time of this newsletter.

Tennessee Titans -3.0 over Jacksonville Jags

We’re willing to give the Titans a pass in that blowout loss to the Skins after a second straight roadie but they get back on track today after one of the better defenses in the league spent the week looking at tape of Mac Jones.  With Trevor Lawrence done for the year, the rest of this team is teetering and we’re thinking we may see some quit today despite the division matchup.  Will Levis continues to improve and what defense would you want to face to work on that learning curve?

Miami Dolphins -6 over New York Jets

Speaking of division rivalries, we have two teams going in the opposite direction here in the AFC East and the trends support Miami at home.   The Jets quit last week after one bad interception so it’s clear there is no bounce back in this team as they continue to pile on loss after loss.  Add a cluster injury on the offensive line to Aaron’s discontent and you can add another loss while you’re at it.   Miami needs a win here to stay in the conversation for the wildcard.

LA Rams +3.5 over Buffalo Bills

The Rams are right in the thick of a division race and find themselves on the right side of 3 in this one as the Bills are slightly over valued after blowing out both the Chiefs and 49ers in back to back snow games.  We’re thinking the motivation may be a bit low this week in a non division, cross country roadie.  The Bills are the better team here and get the win / no cover in a very close one.

Arizona Cardinals -2.5 over Seattle Seahawks

Handicappers dream spot here taking a division rival on the come back at home after losing to the same team just two weeks ago.  Absolute must win for Zona in a super high leverage spot: the winner could host a playoff game and the loser may find themselves out of it all together.  We think we may see “bad Geno” in this one and James Conner won’t be denied like he was in the first match up.  Kyler for the win.

Chicago Bears +3.5 over San Francisco 49ers

Despite the return after two tough snow losses, the 49ers are spiraling out of control.  Bad luck is hitting this organization from every single angle and the injuries just keep piling up.  Meanwhile, the Bears get the dead coach bounce and extended rest after Thanksgiving and finally get to play a team that’s not in the NFC North.  The Bears have perfected the art of losing by 3.  And even though we think they can win this game, that model will work with this number if they happen to do it again.

Here’s a counter point handicap on the Bills / Rams game from analyst Thomas Quaynor.

Good luck with your selections.

Jack and Josh!
