NBA Preview – Memphis +3.5 @ Philadelphia

NBA Preview – Memphis +3.5 @ Philadelphia

by Thomas Quaynor for Wannamakeabet.com

The second half of the NBA season kicks off tonight with two of the NBA’s best teams facing off as the Memphis Grizzlies (36-22) go on the road to face the Philadelphia 76ers( 38-19) on TNT. The 76ers are a 3.5 point favorite and the total is 229. The game features two of the NBA’s elite players in Grizzlies guard Ja Morant and 76ers center Joel Embiid, both players started in last weekend’s all-star game.

This is the second meeting between these teams, the Grizzlies beat the 76ers, 117-109, in Memphis on December 2nd behind strong efforts from its All-Star duo of Ja Morant (28pts, 8rebs) and Jaren Jackson Jr. (22pts, 4blks). The Grizzlies currently sit in second place in the Western Conference and are led by superstar point guard Ja Morant (27.3ppg, 8.3asts, 6rebs), power forward Jaren Jackson Jr., who leads the NBA in blocks at 3.3 per game and shooting guard Desmond Bane (21.5ppg). The 76ers are currently the 3 seed in the East and are led by MVP candidate Joel Embiid (33.1ppg, 10.2rebs. 4.1asts, 1.2blks) and former NBA MVP James Harden (21.4ppg, 10.8asts, 6.2rebs).

The Pick

Memphis has been great at home (24-5) and bad on the road (11-17), I don’t like their chances on the road against one of the best teams in the NBA…lay the 3.5 and take the 76ers!
