NFL Sunday Night Preview – Tennessee +12.5 @ Tennessee

Tennessee plays at Kansas City on Sunday Night Football.  Both teams lead their divisions at 5-2 and feature MVP-caliber superstars in Patrick Mahomes and Derrick Henry.  Tennessee comes into the game on a 4-game winning streak, they’ve won and covered five of the past six matchups in this series dating back to 2014, including a 27-3 win at home against Kansas City last season in which Patrick Mahomes had possibly his worst game as an NFL player. Kansas City’s lone win in the head-to-head matchups was a 35-24 win in the 2019 AFC Championship game. Despite Tennessee’s head-to-head dominance of the series, Kansas City is a significant favorite (12.5 points at Wannamakeabet.com) in this one.
Kansas City’s last game was a convincing 44-23 win at San Fransisco two weeks ago where Patrick Mahomes threw for over 400 yards and almost had three 100-yard pass catchers in JuJu Smith-Schuster(7 for 124 yards), Marquez Valdes-Scantling (3 for 111 yards), and Travis Kelce( 6 for 98 yards). That was the third time Kansas City has scored over 40 points this season! Before this week’s trade deadline, Kansas City traded a third and sixth round pick to the New York Giants for wide receiver Kadarius Toney, who the Giants took in the first round of the 2021 draft. K.Toney’s short time in New York has been marred by injuries, he’s been out since Week 2 with a hamstring injury and missed several games last season as a rookie, but he’s not on the injury report for this game against Tennessee. This now gives Patrick Mahomes yet another talented playmaker to utilize.
Kansas City coach Andy Reid is 20-3 in his coaching career coming off a bye week and Tennessee rookie quarterback Malik Willis struggled last week in his first NFL start against a bad team in the Houston Texans.
KING Henry can carry the Titans(by himself) to wins against the likes of Indianapolis, Houston, and Washington  but Kansas City is on another level.  I’ve got to lay the 12.5 even if Ryan Tannehill plays or starts, he’s considered a game time decision….
Prediction:  Chiefs 41, Titans 20!!
