MLB Wednesday Prediction: Texas Shootout For The Yankees

What the New York Yankees are doing is on a historic level right now. Winning 22 of 26 they have just been rolling since getting off to somewhat of a slow start. Eventually someone will come around that can slow this lineup down….however, I do not see Doug Fister being that guy.

Fister has struggled mightily on the season, especially on his home field (12 ER in 21 innings). Right-handed batters have hit .333 vs. Fister on the season. Stanton is batting .667 in his career for Fister so let’s look for him to get the bat on the ball (and when he puts the bat on the ball it usually goes a long way)!

However, although Texas comes into this game with a lowly record of 19-31, they showed last night that they can produce runs at times. They come into this game just outside the top 10 for homers in the MLB and 15th in runs produced. CC Sabathia has had a very nice season to this point but I would not be surprised to see him let a few runs up here, and the problem with CC is that he most likely is not the guy anymore that will give you 7+ innings, and as good as the Yankees bullpen has been they can also be a little suspect at times. I see the Yankees bouncing back in this one, but Texas should be able to produce some runs as well.

Prediction: New York Yankees/Texas Rangers over 10
