MLB Sunday Prediction: Angels look to avoid the Sweep

After starting the month of May 7-2,the Los Angeles Angels have now gone 2-7. They come out this Sunday to try and avoid being swept by the Tampa Bay Rays. On the hill for the halos we have Shoehei Ohtani. Ohtani has been off to a nice start to his career in the U. S. A. and has thrown very well so far in the month of May ( 12 IP, 17 SO, 3 ER). The past three games they have fallen behind early (7-0, 6-0, 5-0) and weren’t able to produce enough offense to climb out of those holes. A lineup that has Mike Trout, and Albert Pujols in it is hard to bet against.

For the second day in a row the Rays will send long time relief pitcher Sergio Romo out to toss the first inning. He was able to shut down the Angels in the first and then was removed yesterday. If this game plan goes haywire Tampa will have to dive into their pen very early and could lead to disaster. As long as the angels don’t fall behind early again they should be able to avoid the sweep here.

Prediction: Los Angeles Angels -1.5 over Tampa Bay Rays
