NFL Week 16 Picks – AFC North Feels

The commish went 3-2 last week with a regrettable pick on the Rams in Green Bay to end the week.  The season record now stands at 38/66 (57.57%).   For a full preview of every single game on the card, make sure you listen to our podcast.  Here’s who the commish likes this week, all lines are from WANNA at the time of this posting.

Cleveland Browns -2.5 over New Orleans

A cold, windy day in Cleveland is just what the doctor ordered today.  And the Saints biggest weak spot over the past month has been stopping the run. That’s exactly what the Browns are going to do today.  And since the Saints strength is in the passing game and Olave is out, today’s matchup is not favorable for the who-dats.

Baltimore -6.5 over Atlanta

Another cold one on tap for a southern indoor team does not bode well for rookie Desmond Ritter today.  And since the Falcons best card is the running game and the Ravens are number one against the run in the NFL, the matchup is perfect for Baltimore today and this should stay low scoring ugly in a slugfest the Falcons will lose.

Pittsburgh -2.5 over Las Vegas Raiders

The ghost of Franco Harris will be in the building tonight and so will the Steeler’s defense, who matches up well against this Raider team.  The Raiders are coming off a miracle win against the Pats but let’s not forget the week before they blew a lead to the Rams.  The Raiders best asset is Jacobs and the running game but over the past month the Steelers have been stuffing everyone on the ground.  Good news for Pittsburgh is that Pickett is healthy but it will be run, run, run and some Freiermouth for the win tonight.

Green Bay +3.5 over Miami Dolphins

The Packers are quietly climbing the ladder of the top 10 over the past month and currently rank 6th in the commish power rankings.  Meanwhile, the Dolphins are slipping.  And this Christmas Day matchups sets up well for the Pack who have the number one offense over the past month and Miami’s offense has quietly struggled while the Pack D has been ok against the Pass, but not against the run, which Miami doesn’t do well right now.

LA Chargers -3.5 over Indy Colts

I’m not sure how the Colts can respond to the implosion that happened last week against the Vikings but I don’t think it matters because they are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs and arguably the worst team in the NFL.  Matty ice has been benched yet again in favor of Nick Foles.  Heard enough yet?  The Chargers come in this week playing very good ball and surging having played much tougher opponents and looking to hold their edge in the wildcard playoff run.

Good luck with your selections, you’ll need it to cover!
