Monday Night Football – Ravens/Saints Preview
The Baltimore Ravens (5-3) travel to New Orleans to take on the Saints (3-5). The Ravens enter the matchup winning two straight including a beating of Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Ravens will enter the matchup on 10 days’ rest having not played since October 27th. The Saints are trying to get back in the NFC South Race after smoking the lowly Las Vegas Raiders 24-0 at home. Both teams are in need of victories in hopes of making the postseason.
Things to Keep an Eye on: Lamar Jackson to run the ball
Jackson loves running the ball and makes a lot of plays happen with his feet. In many of the Saint’s defeats this season they have struggled at controlling the run game. With the Ravens having an excellent rushing attack in Gus Edwards and Jackson they will need to shut it down to win the game.
New Orleans Saints Forcing turnovers:
When the Ravens have lost close games this year it has been turning the ball over late and committing mental errors. The Saints have already intercepted nine passes this year and the Ravens have thrown eight. Also, the Ravens have fumbled the ball seven times this year is causing a lot of blown leads. And lastly holding leads: The Ravens have blown double-digit leads in all of their three losses so far this season. The talent is one hundred percent there but sometimes the crowd gets the best of them.
The Pick:
I think this game will come down to the end but I see Baltimore pulling it out on the road and surpassing the over 46.5 total. The Saints haven’t shown any consistency all year and only have one win against teams over 500. Baltimore has the talent on offense to pull this one out in a shootout.
