Wannamakeabettors,
Hurricanes and Protocols
The Browns Still Suck, Covid Cancellations and the NFL starts the 2020 season. We’re off and running in the 2020 season at Wannamakeabet.com! I think we can all agree that it was great to have football back in our lives after the last six months of living through this miserable pandemic. The first week of the season seems like a good window into what we can expect in the 2020 season. College Football will have its challenges and the NFL should do better with regard to staying on schedule. That said, Hurricanes and Covid-19 will certainly provide some challenges this fall.
College Cancellations
The Saturday card went mostly according to plan. And by that I mean we had some cancellations due to Covid-19, which I think we should expect this season. It turns out the combination of Hurricane Laura and a pandemic were too much for the La Tech Bulldogs as they had 38 players test positive. Keep your eyes on the schedule to see if and when this game will make it back on the card. The Tulsa / Oklahoma State game was postponed by a week because they couldn’t get their pre-season prep in. A few Covid cases caused a nine day pause in their pre-season workouts and that was enough to move the game back to September 19th.
Bet Refunds
Both of these situations reinforce our site policy for the need for refunds on all bets tied to cancelled or postponed games. Unfortunately, we are not able to remove just the cancelled or postponed games from gimmick bets like parlays, teasers and reverses. For the most part, this is a good thing as these bets hit at less than 20%. And a reminder that our private leagues will get full refunds of your annual site fees if the NFL season gets cancelled before Week 9.
NFL
My Cleveland Browns still suck, and that’s how we know the NFL started again. It was great to see the full card of games on Sunday and Monday go off without a hitch. For those of you who have not joined your usual league this year, there’s likely still plenty of time. Many of you have taken a wait and see approach and I think this first weekend proved that the show will go on.
If you’re thinking about setting up a private league that starts a few weeks late this year, you’re not alone, get in touch with us and we’ll help put together something that works for you.
Free Leagues
Everyone gets another 50,000 points this week in the September College Football and NFL leagues, both are free to join and we give away cash based on how many people are in the league. Tell all your friends about this league because the more people that enter, the more we give away. We’ve also just sent out invites for a September All Sports league. This is the ultimate degenerate league as this may be the only time in history where we have NFL, College Football, MLB, NBA, and NHL games all on the same day! We’ll have a special (secret) prize for this month’s winner. Get in today, don’t cost nothing.
Have a great week and don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.
