That’s a wrap on the 2018 NFL season at Wannamakeabet.com And sure enough, there was no lack of drama on the final day of the regular season. This will also be the last edition of the NFL Monday Morning sports betting QB. I’ve had a blast covering the league this year for Wannamakeabet.com and hope to see you all our leagues for 2018. Especially the NFL Playoffs Cash League, which starts this coming weekend. I’m especially proud of the fact that I went 5 out of 6 yesterday in my predictions . As we do every Monday or Tuesday morning, here’s a quick recap of all games from the final week of the season in the NFL.
Buffalo – The Bills smashed the Dolphins 42-17 on the last game of the season and it was a Josh Allen party as he racked up over 40 fantasy points for DFS players. Miami actually had the better season of the two finishing 8-8 both straight up and ATS but there will be plenty of rebuilding for both squads in the offseason.
Detroit – The Lions had a very respectable 9-6 ATS record this year despite going 6-9 straight up. They put a cherry on the top of their season yesterday by going into Green Bay and shutting out the reeling Packers 31-0. Talk about rebuilding. Aaron Rogers and the pack have a lot of it to do before next season.
Houston – Houston kept up their great form yesterday and put the Jags out of their misery 20-3. They win the AFC South and finish at 11-5 straight up but a mediocre 7-7-2 ATS. They will host division rival Indianapolis in the first playoff game on Saturday afternoon. The line at Wannamakeabet.com opened at Houston -2.5.
New England – Todd Bowles was on the chopping block before the game started by the Pats made it happen in the locker room after the game. They beat the Jets handily 38-3 and secured the second best record in the AFC by finishing 11-5 and getting an extra week of rest before their run back to the Superbowl begins. The Pats were 9-7 ATS this year.
Saints Lose – It was too little too late for the Panthers but they finally stopped their losing streak and beat the Saints in the final game of the season 33-14. Drew Brees didn’t even dress for the game and in general the saints were resting any starter who was banged up or didn’t feel like playing. The Saints still end up with home field advantage in the playoffs. They finish at 13-3 just like the Rams but win the tie-breaker because they beat them straight up.
Dallas – Dak Prescott surprisingly played the entire game against the Giants yesterday and ended up winning a thrilling game 36-35. Zeke Elliott was on the sidelines the entire game. Dallas will host the Seattle Seahawks next weekend on Saturday night and are already 2.5 point favorites at Wannamakeabet.com
Tampa Bay – In a game that generally lacked defense and contained a lot of scoring. The Bucs held off a big rally by the Falcons and won the game 34-32. Atlanta destroyed bettors this season going 5-11 ATS. Tampa, on the other hand, was a respectable 7-7-2.
Ravens win and in – Remember last year when the Bengals scored on a last second play and knocked the Ravens out of the playoffs? Well it almost happened against yesterday, with this year’s spoiler being the Browns. But the Raven defense was just too good and they held them off to win 26-24. Baltimore will now host the Chargers nexts Sunday and have opened up at Wannamakeabet.com as 2.5 point favorites.
Chiefs the best of the West – The Chiefs hammered the Raiders early in the season and they did it again yesterday. They won 35-3 and finished the season 9-6-1 ATS. They also sealed up the best record in the AFC at 12-4. They win the AFC West and force the Charger to go to Baltimore for the wildcard game.
Bears Knock Out Vikings – The Vikings had a home field advantage and a win and in scenario. They couldn’t close the deal as 5 point favorites and are done for the year. And now there are 500 articles on the internet about how Kirk Cousins is overrated. Now the Bears host the dangerous Eagles at home next week and have opened at Wannamakeabet.com as 5.5 point favorites.
Pittsburgh Hangs On – It wasn’t easy. But the Steelers got it done on a late field goal against the Bengals. They failed to cover the 14 point spread but they would have won the AFC North if Cleveland could have found a way to beat the Ravens, which they almost did. You think they miss Le’Vean Bell now?
Eagles Soar – The one game I was wrong about in my analysis for this past weekend was this one. I thought the Redskins would hang tough in this game but the injuries and lack of experience with the backups were too much to overcome for Washington. Philly continues their improbable run. And they should be considered a very dangerous team heading into Chicago next week as a 5.5 point dog.
The Chargers – When the day started the Chargers were hoping for a win and a Chief loss so they could get a week of rest before the playoffs. They were able to beat Denver with ease 23-9 as Case Keenum continued his horrible play turning the ball over and making bad throws the entire game. The Chargers finished at 12-4 and 9-7 ATS this season.
Rams back to form – The LA Rams had another convincing win yesterday and hammered the 49ers 48-32 winning and covering the 10.5 point closing line at Wannamakeabet.com. The Rams get to rest now and see how the wildcard weekend plays out. They finish the season with the same record as the Saints at 13-3 and were 7-7-2 ATS.
Seattle Win. No Cover – This always seems to be a good game. And it was against yesterday. The Seahawks were 14 point favorites over the Cardinals but barely won the game yesterday 27-24. As we mentioned above, they travel to Dallas this weekend and should be considered a very dangerous playoff team giving their experience. They are 2.5 point underdogs to the Cowboys on Saturday night.
Colts deliver – There was one more playoff spot up for grabs last night when the Colts met the Mariotta-less Titans – The closing line at Wannamakeabet.com took off when the news hit that Mariotta would not start and backup journeyman Blaine Gabbert would get the ball. The Titans played from behind all night and at times made it interesting but the Colts were clearly the better team. The Colts end the season 10-6 and are one of only 2 teams in NFL history to go to the playoffs after starting 1-5.
That’s a wrap for the NFL week 17 Monday Morning Quarterback. We hope to see you all at the site in our January Leagues and NFL Playoff Leagues this year. Happy New Year.
