Sunday MLB Predictions: Best Pitchers Facing Subpar NL Lineups

Today we are given two of the best pitchers on the season, facing subpar NL lineups.

Early in the day, we get Max Scherzer (by far the frontrunner for NL Cy Young) facing off vs. the San Francisco lineup. Max just continues to absolutely dominate teams, and the Nationals should be bet on every single time he steps on to the field. Although the guy is loaded with talent he also brings a fiery personality to the table, which in turns helps pick up the rest of the team. Not much is needed to say about why he should be backed today, opponents are hitting just .171 vs him on the year, and he has only allowed 19 runs in 87.2 innings. There is no reason not to back the Nats every time he is playing.

Then for the nightcap, we are given the final game of this weekend subway series. Its hard to put anyone this year in the same conversation as Max Scherzer, but there is one young gun who is making his way in that direction and it is Luis Severino. Not only has Sevy been amazing, keeping opponents to a .191 batting average and only allowing 21 runs in 86 innings (very similar to Scherzer), however, he has also been rewarded with amazing run support in the games he’s thrown. The team has won in 11 out of his 12 starts, averaging over 5 runs/game in those starts. This Mets lineup just looks exhausted at this point blowing leads in the first two games of the series that they should have been able to maintain, and then you factor in those games were against, Tanaka and German, Luis Severino is a whole other animal!

Although parlays can sometimes get tricky I feel confident in pairing together two power offenses, vs subpar lineups and who both have the potential AL/NL Cy young winners chucking for them.

Predictions: 2-team Parlay, Nats over the San Francisco Giants & NY Yankees over the NY Mets
