Thursday MLB Prediction: Lay A Little Wood With The Angels

The Los Angeles Angels lineup would give a great pitcher struggles. When you have to go through the best player in the league (Trout), one of the greatest hitters in MLB history (Pujols), and one of the biggest rookies (Ohtani), that is a tricky lineup to get through.

Surrounded by a resurgent Justin Upton, breakout hitter Andrelton Simmons who is hitting .333 on the season. Ryan Carpenter has had two starts this season and has allowed 8 ER in only 8.2 innings. In the 36 batters he has faced 12 of them managed to get a hit, 3 walked, and Ryan only managed 4 strikeouts. Los Angeles should have no problem getting after Carpenter and forcing Detroit to head to the pen early on.

There is a chance that Miggy Cabrera returns today after missing nearly a month with a hamstring injury. Miggy was having a very nice start to his season before hitting the shelf. Detroit has exceeded certain expectations on the season. After losing 5 straight games, they have rattled off 5 wins in their last seven. This being the last of a four-game series,

Detroit looks to go for the win tonight already winning 2 of the 3. Carpenter does not have enough experience to step in and keep this offense quiet for a second straight day.

Prediction: Los Angeles Angels -1.5 over the Detroit Tigers
