David Price from the Boston Red Sox comes in tonight to face the ace of the team that he used to feature, the Tampa Bay Devil Rays and their ace Chris Archer.
After going up 4-0 yesterday the Boston Red Sox let the Tamp Bay Rays put some runs up to make it close, but still won 4-2. Chris Archer has been good to this point this season but just not to the elite level people once considered him. When you have a pitcher struggling a little this is definitely not a lineup that you want to face. Especially with their career record vs. him (Benintendi .385/ Betts .353/ Bogaerts .333/ Devers .600/ Hanley .292) needless to say this lineup likes to hit off Archer.
Meanwhile, David Price has been very good in his last two starts (14.1 IP, with only two runs allowed in both games.) He should have no problem stepping in here and shutting down his old team. With Chris Sale delivering 7.2 innings last night, the Sox bullpen should also be very well rested.
