2018 The Players Championship Prediction: Top Five Best Bets

The 2018 Players golf championship tees off tomorrow morning with the best field in golf attendance.   Here are our top five predictions for winning the tournament this year.  Click here to view the latest lines from our partner MyBookie.

5. Hideki Matsuyama – It’s been a quiet year for Hide but his track record on this course and ball striking ability cannot be disputed.  He should be around on Sunday if history tells us anything.

4. Si Woo Kim – Despite his recent putting woes which preventing him from closing out the win a few weeks ago, there must be something about these greens that he likes because he was able to master them last year.  He has enough game to contend and win, as he proved last year.

3. Dustin Johnson – Long and straight is usually a good thing, but especially this week as wayward shots are the most penal of any track on Tour.  Dustin doesn’t play a lot of tournaments these days but the number one player in the world should do very well this week, and perhaps capture his first Players.

2. Rory McIlroy – Still trying to shake the final round of the Masters from his memory bank, the same holds true for Rory as it does for Dustin Johnson, his driving skills will put him in position on Sunday.  For Rory, can he overcome the demons between his ears to get a victory like this on his resume?  We think he can.

1. Patrick Reed – Playing with house money never feels better than at the Players and that is exactly what Patrick Reed is doing this week.  That should be just what the doctor orders when it comes to freeing up your swing on this ultra tight track in a high pressure situation.  Patrick stays hot, and stays on track to win the FedEx Cup in 2018 with a high finish or a win this week.
