Tuesday Night NBA – Rockets And Timberwolves Prediction and Preview

The NBA All-Star Break is approaching but just before we get there, we have a big game on Tuesday night. It’s a matchup between the Rockets and Timberwolves, two of the top four teams in Western Conference. The Rockets enter this game just one game back of the Warriors for the one seed in the Western Conference but are tied in the loss column with 13.

These two teams met just once before this season in Houston with the Rockets winning 116-98. In that game, the Rockets were led by Eric Gordon who scored 30 points off the bench while James Harden struggled scoring just 10. For the Timberwolves Jimmy Butler had 23 and Karl-Anthony Towns had 22.

So far this season the Rockets are the second best offensive team in the league behind just the Warriors, averaging 114.1 points per game. The Timberwolves are sixth in the league averaging 109.6 points per game.

I think this game should be closer than the last meeting between the two, especially with this game being in Minnesota. Both teams could be out for something to prove with the playoff race beginning to take shape. The Rockets are out to prove they are a legit threat to the Warriors and the Timberwolves want to show they could be a threat in the West. You should expect a close, high scoring game in this one.

The Pick: Rockets -3 and Over 222.5
