Philadelphia Eagles vs New England Patriots (-4)

What’s so great about this Super Bowl is that these are clearly the two best teams in the league. If you’re a neutral fan, that’s really all you can ask for. Even with Carson Wentz going down with a torn ACL, the Eagles have shown they are still a great team and were capable of overcoming his loss. Nick Foles has been more than fine as his replacement.

The Patriots enter this game with the number one offense in the league and they will be going up against the number four ranked defense in the league in the Eagles. The key to beating Tom Brady is to put pressure on him and hitting him and the Eagles have a front four capable of doing that. They will be able to get pressure without having to blitz. Even if the Eagles are able to hold a lead late in this game, we all know that with the Patriots it’s never over. Coming back from down 28-3 in last year’s Super Bowl and two weeks ago overcoming a 10 point fourth quarter deficit to win. You can never count out Brady as he always seems to find a way.

If history tell us one thing it’s that this will be a close game. Each of the seven Super Bowl games in the Brady/Belichick era the games have been extremely close. In fact, their largest margin of victory was last season when they beat the Falcons by six, but as we all know that game went to overtime. In the seven Patriots Super Bowls with Brady and Belichick, the games have been decided by an average of 3.7 points. There is nothing to believe that this game won’t be another close game that gets decided in the fourth quarter.

The Pick: Eagles +4
