NFL Week 14 First Looks & Over Of The Week

By Ryan O’Donoghue

NFL Week 14 Opening Lines

Week 14 of the NFL season means the same thing every year: your dumpster fire of a fantasy football team has finally been sprayed by an extinguisher and put out of its misery. For those of you that made your fantasy playoffs, congratulations on your “drafting abilities” by picking Alvin Kamara in the 8th round. For those of us who weren’t so lucky, let’s make some money back this weekend-

Favorite team to COVER their spread

Pittsburgh to COVER -5 versus Baltimore

Last week I was wrong about the Steelers covering +5 at Cincinnati. The Steelers have been playing impressive football during their 7-game win streak, but somehow I forgot about the stinky mess that happens in Roethlisberger’s girdle when he leaves Pittsburgh. That said, at home their offense is delicious, and after beating the Ravens by 17 already, this should be a similar output.

OVER of the week

Chicago at Cincinnati OVER 37.5

Although most of this year Dalton and his boys in tiger-stripes have looked just as intimidating as Tigger from Winnie the Pooh, one saving grace is that their offense is averaging 23.5 points/game in their last four home games. If they can score this average versus a below-average Bears team, that means Chicago just needs two touchdowns for this over to hit. Let us pray…

Nobody Bets the UNDER

Tennessee at Arizona UNDER 44

We hate the guy that bets the under. He wants to see more fullback runs, skips most Sundays for brunch with his wife, and leaves football games early to beat traffic. But, the Cards are averaging 20 points/game in their last four games. The Titans are averaging 21, and Mariota has been throwing a lot of picks. This week he visits Patrick Peterson, which certainly won’t make things easier.

 Easy Money(line)

 Dallas (-210) at N.Y. Giants

Sure, (-210) isn’t phenomenal* odds. But do we really think that the Cowboys are going to lose to these Giants? A Giants team that jumped, head first, off of the metaphorical bridge after deciding to start Geno Smith last week? Dallas is fighting for a playoff spot and the Giants are fighting to stop their fans from dusting off the green and white jerseys that sit in the back of their closets, only to be worn in the most desperate of times.

*the word phenomenal must be said with a Jim Rome accent.

Parlay to Consider

Packers ML (-165)

Seattle COVER +3 (-120)

Dallas/N.Y. Giants OVER 41 (-110)
