Week 13 NFL – The Parlay Prognosticator Smells A Pats Victory

By Stephen Rodriguez – Wannamakeabet Staff Writer

Pick of the Week: New England Patriots (-8.5) at Buffalo Bills

You should never bet against the Pats. Parlays will teach you that the hard way, so that’s not starting this week. New England is coming off an 16.5 point ATS win versus the Miami Dolphins and will travel to Buffalo to take on another division rival. The Bills are 6-4 on the season, and are coming off a big win in Kansas City where their starting quarterback Tyrod Taylor returned under center after being benched for Nathan Peterman.

In regards to Buffalo, I don’t think it matters who they start under center this week. The Patriots are 5-0 on the road and although being just 7-4 ATS this year, you should never bet against the Pats!

Tom Brady leads the league in passing yards with 3,374 which is 336 yards more than the next closest person. Buffalo has allowed 240 passing yards per game; they have also allowed 23.6 ppg. The Patriots have the best total offense in the league, and the third highest scoring offense with 29.5 ppg.

The once struggling Patriots defense has also begun to click. Although they rank 30th in total defense, New England only allows 20 ppg and haven’t allowed more than 17 points in a game during their seven game winning streak.

Last but not least, Tom Brady has a 26-3 career mark facing the Bills and is one win away from passing Brett Favre for most ever wins by a starting quarterback against a single opponent.

Prediction: Patriots win 27-14

Pick of the Week: Kansas City Chiefs (-3.5) at New York Jets

Similar to last week’s matchup in New York, with the point spread set at (-3.5) this matchup becomes a great ATS play for the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Kansas City Chiefs have lost three in a row and have failed to score more than 10 points in their last two games. Yet, I don’t see that continuing against the Jets this Sunday.

Kareem Hunt rushed for just 17 yards last week against the Bills and is averaging 42.3 rushing yards per game during the Chiefs three game losing streak; but expect that to change against New York. The Jets defense gave up 145 rushing yards last week and have given up 120 rushing yards per game.

New York’s weakness will play into Kansas City’s strength and the Meadowlands will feel the presence of Kareem Hunt and Tyreek Hill.

Prediction: Kansas City win 28-23
