Wannamakeabettors,
Happy New Year! We hope the new year is off to a good start and part of your new year’s resolution is to bet fewer teasers and parlays at Wannamakeabet.com than you did last year 🙂 Here’s what’s happening this weekend at WANNA.
- Invites are out for the January All Sports Cash League. Congrats to member BigBob7777 who won the December league! Remember, the more people that join the league the more cash we give away.
- There’s one big game left in the College Bowl Bonanza. Everyone is chasing member “Patrick9”. Don’t forget to fire in on Monday night when Michigan (-4.5) takes on Washington in the final game. Winner gets 50 cash!
- Reminder to everyone in the Megabux South league that your league ends with the national championship game on Monday night. Payouts are 70/15/10/5% of the total pot. Any questions, let us know.
- For those of you in the Megabux New York League, you are getting an additional 25K points after tomorrow’s NFL games.
Podcast Picks:
Week 17 was another tough card for all bettors with coutless backdoor covers and Podcast hosts Jack and Cello had another disappointing week going 2-3. That brings the season record to 48-336-1 (57%). This week’s Podcast is live. so tune in and get our breakdown of every single game on the card. Even though this week contains a lot of games that have no impact, we still felt good about these top five. All lines are from Wannamakeabet.com at the time of this newsletter.
- Houston Texans -1 over Indianapolis Colts
- Of all the games on the card this week, this one carries the most weight. The winner is in the playoffs and the loser is out. And if the Jags lose their game, the winner of this game wins the AFC South. We have a weighted rank on the Texans at 14th and the Colts are down at #22. Both teams are healthy where it matters on both sides of the ball but we think Houston has the better QB and better storyline for a playoff team this year. And Gardner Minshew will do what he does best… turn the ball over.
- New England Patriots -2.5 over New York Jets
- The Pats own the Jets. And if that’s not enough for you, consider this may be the last time Bellichick plays in Foxboro in front of these loyal fans. We know stranger things have happened in this league but it’s almost inconceivable that the no-quit Pats lose this game.
- Tampa Bay Bucs -4.5 over Carolina Panthers
- The Bucs are the best team in the NFC South and will go to the playoffs after they dispose of the Panthers on Sunday. Carolina has the single lowest variance in the entire league this season. Which means they’re the most consistent team in the league, in a bad way. And no amount of drinks thrown at fans by the owner can change that. Baker and Evans get back on track this week and send the Panthers into the offseason with still more questions than answers.
- Tennessee Titans +3.5 over Jacksonville Jaguars
- Speaking of the Panthers, after taking money all last week, they still couldn’t stand a chance against the sliding and ailing Jags. So some may falsely assume the Jags are ready for the post-season. They’re not. They’ve been slipping for the past two months and Trevor Lawrence and key players on both sides of the ball are banged up beyond repair. They’re not going to be ready for the going away party Mike Vrabel is going to throw for them on Sunday, and they will be lucky to even win the game.
- Buffalo Bills -2.5 over Miami Dolphins
- Even though this game is for the AFC East title, the Dolphins have secured a wildcard and the Bills have not. Going back to 2017, Miami has only beaten the Bills twice and that just does not bode well for them given how much this game matters to Buffalo. Buffalo doesn’t want to hope for a Jags or Steeler loss, and despite all their problems this year, they are going to the playoffs and will win this game.
Honorable Mentions – We also agreed on the following games but did not include them in our top five: New Orleans Saints, Dallas Cowboys, LA Rams, Las Vegas Raiders.
Good luck with your selections. And take a look at this deep dive on the Texans / Colts game from analyst Thomas Quaynor.
Good luck with your selections and Happy New Year!
