Podcast Picks
As always, the weekly Podcast is live and hosts Jack and Cello are coming off another winning week going 3-2. That brings the season record to 27-18 (60%). Here’s who we have our eye on this Sunday. All lines are current from Wannamakeabet.com at the as time of this email.
- Cleveland Browns +6.5 over Baltimore Ravens
- The NFL media has fallen in love with the Ravens and the data supports the assertion. On October 1st the Ravens beat the Browns 28-3 but Deshaun wasn’t playing. But this handicap isn’t about him, it’s about a division rivalry and the need for the Browns to win this game in order keep pace in the race for the AFC North. They may not get the W but they should do enough to keep it close till the final whistle.
- San Francisco 49ers -3 over Jacksonville Jaguars
- The health of Debo Samuel and Trent Williams can’t be under estimated. With both of them healthy it opens up the entire offense. Combine that with a Jags pass rush that is pretty weak to go with their below average strength of schedule. The 49ers need a win badly and this is where they snap the three game losing streak.
- Detroit Lions -3 over LA Chargers
- We rank the Lions 4th overall and the Chargers 12th but the real mismatch is the offense / defense (Detroit 5 / Chargers 23) in this one. The Lions are coming off a bye and have a very healthy offense who will be jacked and ready. We think they will assert themselves in this one and show the world they’re part of the league’s elite.
- Dallas Cowboys -17.5 over New York Giants
- This sure is a lot of wood to chop but considering the boys hung 40 on the G-men opening week it doesn’t seem like too many. and back in September D Jones and Saquan were healthly. Throw in the fact that the Boys are coming off a bitter loss to the Eagles and they can name their score in this one.
- Seattle Seahawks – 6 over Washington Commanders
- Washington rolls into Seattle on Sunday with the 28th ranked defense in the league and their second straight road game. Meanwhile, Seattle was humiliated by the Ravens and are looking to exact some revenge on a weak opponent. And given the Commandos traded away their pass rushers (Young and Sweat) you really have to wonder how they’re going to get any pressure against this offense on Sunday. Seattle bounces back and wins big.
