NFL Picks
We went 3-2 last week with our consensus picks The season record is now 15-10 (60%). Here’s our top 5 for this week as we look to stay hot:
- Baltimore Ravens -4.5 over Tennessee Titans
- Despite playing a great game last week against the Steelers, the Ravens lost the game and left angry and motivated for this early London game this week against the Titans. We currently rank the Ravens 7th overall while the Titans are a sad 22nd. And the Ravens D is overall 2nd and they really can stop the run, which is about the only thing the Titans can do well with Henry. Vrabel gets outcoached easily here and will be standing there again with his vest and a dumbfounded look on his face as they fail to block for Tanny and chalk up another loss.
- Miami -13.5 over Carolina Panthers
- We continue to play with house money betting against the Panthers and this week is no different. Although the Giants appear to be worse than Carolina, this week should look a lot like last week as the Pathers hit the road for the second straight week and this may be the week they hit rock bottom. Panthers are 31st in our power rankings and the Dolphins are 4th. If Miami plays a clean game they can name their score in this one.
- Indy Colts +4.5 over Jacksonville Jaguars
- The Jags didn’t look great in either of the London wins. Atlanta was inept and the Bills were sleeping. Either way, the Jags return home to host the very scrappy Colts led by a quarterback (Minshew) that they drove out of town last year. This should be a very evenly matched game and given the division rivalry and implications of going 0-2 for the Colts in this matchup this season, we see this coming right down to the wire and a potential upset is very much on the table.
- New England + 3.5 over Vegas Raiders
- This is a bit of an ugly pick but we just can resist taking Belichick in this spot against his former OC McDaniels. The Pats strength of schedule should really pay dividends this week as this is huge step down in class from the types of defenses they’ve faced this year (read: Eagles, Jets, Cowboys, Saints). If there was a chance to stop the bleeding for a season that seems to be spinning out of control for this storied franchise, this is it.
- Buffalo Bills -14.5 over New York Giants
- The Bills get a chance on Monday night to lay the wood to the downstate Giants after playing horrible in London last week and it’s a perfect bounce back game. The Giants are the worst team in the league and they won’t be helped by any key players returning from injuries. Possibly no QB, no running back and a cluster injury on the offensive line. Do a belly flop and break a table at the tailgate and get the easy money on this one.
