The Masters is set to kick off this Thursday morning, and 87 different golfers will be vying for that illustrious Green Jacket. Participants include past champions such as Bubba Watson and Jordan Spieth, along with first time Masters invitees.
The current favorite from our partner DraftKings is Rory McIlroy at +800, followed closely behind by Dustin Johnson and Justin Rose who are listed at +1600 and +1800, respectively. Check out all the Master’s promotions here including $20 in free bets.
McIlroy will be entering the Masters in great form, having placed in the top-ten in his last seven tournaments. On the other hand, Johnson has been a bit inconsistent lately, finishing all over the board in his nine 2019 tournaments thus far while Rose has recently overtaken him for the top spot in the Official World Golf Rankings.
If you elect not to throw a dart at the list of 87 different players, fortunately for you DraftKings is offering more props and matchups than any other online sportsbook.
Here are some of the matchups I find interesting this week:
Tiger Woods is listed as an underdog vs. John Rahm with +105 odds, however, if you look at the odds to win the tournament, Tiger is listed at +2000 while Rahm is at +2500. This means there’s value somewhere in this pick depending on which guy you’re! leaning towards. My guess is that Tigers +2000 odds are a little inflated because, well, it’s Tiger Woods and fans love to bet on him.
Rickie Fowler is a slight favorite to be Brooks Koepka at -130, and I’m going to ride with Fowler on this one. Fowler has a had a decent 2019, but Koepka is just not in good form at all, finishing 56th or worse in his last three tournaments.
There’s about eighty other matchups that you can bet on at DraftKings if these two aren’t right for you.
As for props, there is an array of possibilities. Below is a list of the one’s I find to be the most interesting and unique:
Length of winner’s final shot: O/U 3.5 ft.
Most strokes recorded on any hole: O/U 8.5 strokes.
Total number of players finishing under par: O/U 15.5 players.
Will a left-handed player win the Masters?
Winning 72-hole score: O/U 276.5 strokes.
If you’re a big Tiger Woods fan, DraftKings has a whole section dedicated to props involving him. You can bet on his round 1 score, his lowest completed round score, the number of bogeys he gets, whether or not he will birdie the first hole in round 1, and even if he’ll find water on number twelve.
DraftKings is even offering site wide Boosts on bets for this year’s Masters tournament.
Here’s How it Works:!
Our current live sitewide boosts include:
Tiger to Win Masters: +2000 (boosted from +1400)
Rory to Win Masters: +900 (boosted from +700)
Dustin Johnson to Finish Top 10: +130 (boosted from +110)
