Some days when looking at who to take it is difficult, and other days you just have to go with the obvious pick. One of those times you should make one of those “obvious” picks, is whenever Max Scherzer is on the mound.
Max has been the most dominant player in this season, and is just owning opponents. Leties have had more luck vs. Scherzer than righties, however, saying they have had luck means they are batting .188 (righties batting .148).
Nathan Eovaldi came back last week to make his first start in over a year. He looked great in this outing going 6 innings without allowing a hit, with 4 strikeouts also. As good as he was throwing they still pulled him after the sixth.
They do not want to push him too hard just coming off of an injury. This shows that they plan on using him lightly and will look to pull him at the first sign of trouble. The Nats have covered the run-line in 8 out of 10 Scherzers starts and until he shows me that he cannot be trust I am going to back Washington whenever he is on the mound.
Prediction: Washington Nationals -1.5 over the Tamp Bay Rays
