In a season plagued with injuries for the Los Angeles Dodgers, one bright spot has been the emergence of the young righty Walker Buehler. He steps up today to face the San Diego Padres.
While many were starting to call it a season for the Dodgers early they have had a sudden reemergence winning seven of their last nine. Justin Turner and Yadira Puig both have returned from dL and are hitting the ball well. Buehler comes in today with an amazing start to his MLB career, opposing batters are hitting a combined .194 vs Walker and he has only allowed 2 home runs in 34 innings.
He should have no problem getting through this Padres lineup. Justin turner coming back may have been the jolt that this lineup has needed. Him and the the rest of the lineup should have no problem knocking around Matt Strahm. Only three strikeouts to go along with an era around 5, he doesn’t have the stuff to pitch around this lineup so look for the dodgers to keep it rolling.
