Two more weeks in the NFL season and a lot riding on Sunday’s card. Many playoff spots and home field is also in play for both the AFC and NFC. Let’s take a quick look at the entire card for this coming weekend. NFL Odds provided by williamhill.com.
Saturday’s Card. Two games on tap as the dreaded Thursday Night games are finally in the rear view mirror.
Baltimore -13.5 over Colts – The Ravens are officially in the hunt and the Colts are among the worst in the league on both sides of the ball. If Baltimore wins out, they’re in. We don’t see any letup on Saturday. Lay the wood and start choppin with Baltimore.
Vikings -9 over Packers – Not so fast Minnesota. Just when you thought the Packers would mail it in because the premature return of Aaron Rodgers failed last weekend against the Panthers, the Packers are at home to play spoiler to the Vikings on Saturday night. They won’t get the win but they certainly will make it interesting. Maybe throw a little Packer love on the moneyline.
Detroit -4.5 over Cincinnati – The Bengals have completely mailed it in and Detroit has everything to play for and have been playing great football in the last month. Both teams going in opposite directions. Lay the small number with the Lions. Their defense alone will cover this.
Chargers – 7 over Jets – The Jets have still been scrappy despite being done for the season. They were impressive last week in New Orleans as the game was a lot closer than the final score indicated. But the Chargers are trying to get the awful taste of that Chief loss out of their mouths and still very much alive for the AFC wildcard hunt. Lay the touchdown with Sandy and watch the blowout in Jersey.
Rams – 7 over Tennessee – I can’t believe the Rams are laying this many points on the road. I know they’re the better team but Tennessee needs this game to stay alive and they are at home. The Rams are going to win the West even if they lose the next two weeks. Hard to imagine they will be that inspired to win this game. Take the home dog with the seven.
Chicago Bears – 6.5 over Cleveland. How many weeks can you take DeShone Kizer before enough is enough. Brownies are desperate to win a game but that’s true every week. Don’t do it.
Washington – 3 over Denver. As if the last game we covered wasn’t meaningless enough, there’s this gem. I don’t know what the total is but bet the under. Skins should win at home but I wouldn’t touch this with a ten foot pole with real units. But If I had to pick, I’d take the Skins at home.
Miami +10.5 at Kansas City – Skins continue to dominate at home and the Dolphins pride won’t be enough to stop the KC freight train, especially against a Miami team without a real quarterback, and that includes Cutler.
New England -11.5 over Buffalo – think about this, if Buffalo wins this game they’re still in the hunt for a playoff spot. And we’re getting too scores against a New England team coming off an emotional win. Pats just need the W and not a two touchdown cover.
Tampa +10 over Carolina – Tampa looked capable on Monday night against the Falcons and this just seems like too many for a division rivalry late in the year as Tampa tries to play spoiler again.
Saints -6 over Atlanta – Love Atlanta as a dog, hate em as a favorite. This should be Saints -3, I’ll take the 6.
Jacksonville – 4 over San Francisco – My first instinct was to take the 49ers here but they seem to be punching way above their weight class. Although not sure how the Jags are going to get up for this game given playoff scenarios, but I’ll lay the 4 anyway. Not all the dogs are gonna cover Sunday.
Giants + 3.5 over Arizona – I love the Giants here, they looked great last week and appear to be finishing the season strong since coach got the axe.
Seattle + 5 over Dallas – Zeke is back and Dallas must win to stay alive. This is the nail in the coffin for Seattle’s season.
Steeler’s – 9 over Houston – This could get ugly. Steeler’s take out all their anger from Monday’s loss to the Pats out on the Texans. Early and often.
Philly – 9 over Oakland – Time for Philly to show the whole country they’re the ones to beat in the NFC. Oakland still mathematically alive but Philly’s defense will show up this week, not like Sunday against the Giants.
Good luck with your selections!
I went 6-9 on these picks. HORRIFIC! 🙂
