Los Angeles Kings (12-6-2) +110 vs The Las Vegas Golden Knights (11-6-1) -133
The Kings played on Saturday against the Florida Panthers in Los Angeles, and won the game 4-0. The Golden Knights haven’t played since Thursday coming off a 5-2 win against the Vancouver Canucks. We’ll have to say the Knights are well rested going into this game. Both teams are neck and neck within the Pacific Division. The Kings are 6-2-0 on the road while the Knights are 7-1-0 at home this season.
The Kings are 1-4-0 in their last 5 games, prior to yesterday’s win they were on a 4-game losing streak. With goalie Darcy Kuemper starting yesterday I think they’ll go with Jonathan Quick in tonight’s game. Quick is 9-6-1 with a GAA of 2.31 and a SV% of .930. In his last 5 games he’s 1-4-0 with a GAA of 3.00 and a SV% of .912. His numbers aren’t great of late. The Kings are averaging 2 GF in the past 5 games and are giving up 2.4 GA.
The Golden Knights started the season off hot, but have gone 4-5-1 in their last 10 games. They’ve used 4 starting goalies so far this season due to injuries. Malcolm Subban has been activated off IR according to the team’s website. Their current starting goaltender Maxime Lagace in his last 5 starts is 2-2-1 with a GAA of 3.40 and a SV% of .874. The numbers for him aren’t great at all. With the way he’s been playing of late. With Subban just being activated I don’t think they’ll give him the start over Lagace
The Knights have a well-balanced offense, 7 players have at least 5 goals or more. The lack of stable goaltending from Lagace of late has left the team struggling to win these close games. The last 5 games the Knights are averaging 3.4 GF. It’s very difficult to win games when your goaltender’s GAA is the same as the offenses GF average. If the Knights offense keeps doing what their doing, and the goaltending stays consistent the Knights can win this game.
With the Knights being well rested playing at home. I think you should go with Las Vegas in this one -133.
