College Football Preview – By Ace Vetrano
Time for the stretch run. If your favorite team is a contender, well then it is time to buckle up. From here on out, if a team in the top 10 loses a game, then you can kiss any CFP hopes goodbye. That is, at least, the impression I got Tuesday night while watching the selection show. There is a legit case right now for eight to ten teams who deserve a spot. With only four teams getting in however (for now), no one can afford another loss and feel safe. Not even number one. With this week featuring tough conference matchups up and down the top 10, it is guaranteed that some dreams will die this weekend. #1 Georgia is only a 2.5 point favorite at a good two loss Auburn team in “The Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry.” #2 Alabama, while they are giving 14 on the road, has a tough game at #16 Mississippi State led by Nick Fitzgerald. #3 Notre Dame plays in the highlighted game of the slate Saturday, at #7 Miami. #4 Clemson hosts rival Florida State, who you know will be up for this game despite their train wreck season. #5 Oklahoma, off their huge win in Stillwater, now plays co Big 12 leader and fellow one loss #6 TCU. #8 Wisconsin hosts Iowa, who is coming in off their throttling of previous #6 Ohio State. #9 Washington goes to The Farm to take on a very good Stanford team on Friday night. It is simply just another weekend that proves why college football is the best, specifically the best sport to gamble on. On to the games!
